ODESSA - Delsie O. Gann was born Feb. 15, 1929, in Mereta to C.V. and Elsie Smith. She passed away Oct. 9, 2000, at her residence.
Services are scheduled for 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000, at Sunset Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Clydell Chapman officiating. Assisting will be her longtime friend, Woody Allen. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Delsie graduated from Mertzon High School. She married Charles F. Gann Sr. July 4, 1948, and they moved to Odessa in 1952. She worked in food service for ECISD for 34 years. She worked at Burnet and Bonham.
Mrs. Gann was a member of the Juliets at the Globe Theater and a member of the Jollies Class at Temple Baptist Church. Each month she and a group of friends would play and dance with the residents of nursing homes in Odessa. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Charles F. Gann Sr. of Odessa; her sons, Charlie Gann Jr. of Odessa and Joe Gann of Corpus Christi; her daughter, Norma Gann of Caaufman; a brother, Clyde Ray Smith of Odessa; a sister, Norma Jean Sizemore of Odessa; grandchildren, Tony, Nathan, Jami, Joe and Chris Gann; and great-grandchildren, Hunter, Craig, Rodney and Jennifer Gann.
The family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
