Mrs. Marjorie Lee Sparks, 78 of Savannah passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at St. Joseph’s Hospital.

She was born in Savannah to the late Wilburn and Nellie Rivers Nelms.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Manfred Sparks, brothers, Drew Nelms and Edward Nelms, and sister, Nadine Crosby.

She was a homemaker and supported her husband who was a missionary in Mexico over 30 years. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Survivors include her children, David W. Sparks, Stephen W. Sparks, John W. Sparks and his wife, Lisa, Ann O’Neal, Felipe Sparks and his wife, Emy; 19 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

The visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at the Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home located at 901 West Highway 80 in Pooler. The funeral to honor Marjorie’s life will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 in the chapel of the Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home located at 901 West Highway 80 in Pooler. Rev. Mark Minter will officiate. Music will be provided by Jeannie Paro and Ann O’Neal. Pallbearers will be Christopher Sparks, David Sparks, Jr., Michael Sparks, Felipe “Jr.” Sparks, Jason Sparks and John Sparks. The burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery on Little Neck Road. Thomas C.
