James Nelson “Jimmy” Murchison, age 73, of Salado, previously of Crockett, passed away Friday, September 27, 2019 in Dallas. Jimmy was born March 14, 1946 in Crockett to parents, John Smith Murchison, Jr. and Louise Robinson Murchison. He was a 1964 graduate of Crockett High School and received his bachelor’s degree 1998 from University of Mary Hardin Baylor. Jimmy was a veteran of the United States Navy proudly serving his country from 1966 to 1970. For twenty-two years, Jimmy owned and operated Murchison Gifts and Antiques in Crockett serving so many people near and far.

Jimmy is survived by his daughter, Mary Beth Murchison of Savage, Minnesota; brothers, John Smith Murchison III and wife, Dorothy of Yulee, Florida, Danny Ray Murchison of Crockett; uncle, William R. Murchison of Tulsa, Oklahoma; nephews, Daniel McIntosh Murchison of Dallas, John Smith Murchison IV of Dallas; nieces, Michele Murchison of Salada, Nicole Murchison of Austin, Andrea Murchison of Austin; numerous other relatives. He is preceded in death by wife, Nona Beth Murchison,; parents, John Smith and Louise Murchison; brother, Billy Gaines Murchison.

Funeral services for James Nelson “Jimmy” Murchison will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 3, 2019 in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jim Tom Ainsworth officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Park.
