Wesley D. Durst, 70, died at 11:24 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2002, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.

Born Jan. 16, 1932, in Partridge Township, Woodford County, to Joseph and Amanda Winkler Durst, he married Joan Ostroff Bryant in Burke, S.D. She survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Midge (and Harold) Magnuson of Tiskilwa, Susan (and Bob) Potter of Colleyville, Texas, and Lisa (and Dave) Lou of Henry; two sons, Kevin Ostroff of Henry and Mark (and Imelda) Ostroff of San Diego; two brothers, Quentin ''Jim'' of Eureka and Gerald ''Jake'' of Lacon; three sisters, Bernadine Fauber of Metamora, Evelyn Westefer of Chillicothe and Geraldine (and Lawrence) Kenyon of Germantown Hills; 19 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

A Korean War Army veteran, he was a member of Henry American Legion Post 323 and was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 555, where he was serving as quartermaster and was past commander.

He managed and owned restaurants in the Henry area for many years, including Hotel Henry and the Doug House in Putnam.

He also had served as a district supervisor for Tri-County Opportunity Councils for many years.

He was a member of United Methodist Church of Lacon.
