A. R. (Alfred R.) Cavaness, one of Lynch Townships substantial farmers and good citizens died at his home eight miles west of town (Licking, Mo.)last Saturday of lung trouble. He had been in failing health for some time and his death was not unexpected. He had made his will and left his affairs in order. He expressed himself as willing and ready to go. His remains were entered in the grave yard a short distance from his home. Elder Jarvis a Christian minister of Plato conducted religious services after which the Masonic and Odd Fellows fraternities and took charge and buried his remains with honors of their orders. A. R. Cavaness was born Sept. 16, 1870 and died April 7, 1906. His parents were William Frank Cavaness and Sarah (Brown) Cavaness. His brothers and sister were Alexander Washington "Bud" Cavaness, William E. Cavaness, Andrew D. Cavaness, Lorenzo Cavaness, and Martha Malinda (Cavaness) Blankenship.October 30, 1894 Alfred R. Cavaness married Mary Ann Foster. Their children were Edith Mae (Cavaness) Jackson/Johnson, John "Johnnie" Thomas Cavaness, William "Willie" Jasper Cavaness, and Maude Opal (Cavaness) Helton.
