During the fall of 1857, Jonas Aimé Bonjour and his wife, Sophia, came to Neuchatel, KS and eventually homesteaded the farm now belonging to the heirs of Walter and Anna Myers Bonjour. They had three sons: Charles J. (moved to Washington), Jonas Aimé Jr. (Amos), and Roland J.

Old Settler gone... Died at his residence, one and a half mile north of Neuchatel, Mr Jonas A. Bonjour, on January 5, 1879. Mr Bonjour was born in Switzerland in 1830, came to the United States in 1850; settled in Indiana in the Spring of 1856; came to Leavenworth county, Kansas, in 1857; removed to Jackson County in 1858, and from there to Nemaha County, where he resided up to his death.
