His funeral service will be at 11 AM on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at St. Petri Lutheran Church in Flanagan with Pastor Amy Berger officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 PM on Friday, September 27, 2019 at Calvert Johnson and Froelich Memorial Home in Flanagan, and on Saturday from 10-10:45 AM at church. Burial will be in St. Petri Cemetery, Flanagan.
He was born on January 14, 1939 in Minonk , a son to Alfred H. and Ruby M. McCormick Carls. He married Claretta Tammen on June 24, 1962 she survives.
Also surviving are two children, Tim (Jody) Carls and Kelly (Mike) Gumm; 4 grandchildren, Josh (Jesse) Gumm, Tabitha Gumm, Matthew Carls and Tiffany Gumm; 5 great- grandchildren, Addison, Bentley, Riker and Ellie Gumm and Dade Watson; 2 brothers, Larry (Judy) Carls and Jack (Linda ) Carls and a sister, Janice Bertche and several nieces and nephews.
Ron served in the Marine Corps which he was very proud of. After serving, he was in the printing industry for 42 years in Pontiac at the company now known as “LSC Communications.”
Ron enjoyed hunting and especially going fishing at Chippewa Flowage in Hayward Wisconsin with his family. He was full of humor and he always enjoyed joking around with his friends and family.
