Remembrance Armstrong, aged 87, well known retired farmer of Jefferson Township, died at 5 o'clock last evening, July 22, 1943, at the home of his son, J. L. Armstrong, one mile east of Jefferson on Route 188. Mr. Armstrong had been ill for several months. A lifelong resident of eastern Greene County, Mr. Armstrong was born January 8, 1856, in Cumberland Township, a son of William and Susan Curl Armstrong. He had resided in Jefferson Township for the last 55 years and followed farming all his life. His wife, Mary J. Goodwin Armstrong died 14 years ago. He is survived by one son, J. L. Armstrong, of near Jefferson, seven grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral arrangements had not been completed last night.
