Robert Lewis Devore, 86, of Burlington, passed away at 8:35 PM Tuesday, September 24, 2019, at OakView Nursing Home and Rehabilitation in Burlington.
Born February 21, 1933, in Wapello Township, Louisa County, IA. He was the son of David Earl and Merle DeEtta Callahan Devore. On June 4, 1961, he married Erma Lee Curtis in the Methodist Church in Carthage, IL. She passed on December 13, 2016.
Bob attended Victory Rural School at Fairview and graduated from Wapello Consolidated High School.
Bob was a carpenter for 37 years and helped build over 99 new houses in the surrounding Mediapolis area. He and his wife enjoyed traveling in their motor home and going south for the winters.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church he served on the Church Board as a member of the Trustee and Building Committees. He was a member of Sons of the American Revolution. Robert enjoyed spending his time woodworking and reaching family genealogy.

Besides his beloved wife, he is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, three sisters, four brothers and an infant sister and brother.
