Agnes Marie Basel, 99 years of age, became Our Gift to God Sunday September 22, 2019 in Ravenna, Ohio. Mrs. Basel was God’s Gift to Us in Cleveland, Ohio on March 14, 1920, the daughter of the late Joseph and Gabriela (Homolka) Anderle.

Formerly of Garfield Hts., Agnes had been a Ravenna-Shalersville resident since 1998. Agnes was dedicated to the in home care of individuals ,and of children which she dearly enjoyed doing for many years. An avid gardener she took great pride in her flower beds, she enjoyed Polka dancing, and the times spent with her sisters and family. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Mantua.

Agnes was preceded in death by her beloved husband Peter John Basel in 1969, and her siblings James, Joseph and Chuck Anderle,Emily Silhavy, Annie Wells, Josie Rajnis and Ella Svoboda.

Surviving is her devoted daughter Karon (Frank) Mahoney of Ravenna; dear brother Frank Anderle of Chippewa Lake, Ohio, dear sister Rose Kampert of West Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, and many loving nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St. Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday September 26, 2019, 10:00 A. M. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 11045 St. Joseph Blvd., Mantua, Ohio 44255 with Rev. Edward Stafford officiating. (EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH). Final resting place will then follow at Calvary Cemetery, Cleveland, Ohio.
