Graveside service for Mrs. Alice Lenora Jackson, 92, of Houston, TX will be held at 1:00 PM Sunday, September 22, 2019 at Willow Oak Cemetery with Mr. Phil Fowler officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 21, 2019 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Mrs. Jackson passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 in Houston.

Mrs. Alice was born on November 30, 1926 in Union Ridge Community, Upshur County at her home to the late Marcus and Myrtle (Bishop) Halyard. She was a member of the Rebeka Lodge and Valley View Baptist Church. Alice worked for Good Shepard Hospital for ten years as well as for Brookshire’s for ten years. She loved to crochet, work in the garden, and enjoyed to cooking. Mrs. Jackson was always looking for recipes to cook and share with her love ones.

Mrs. Jackson is survived by her son, Paul Burnett; grandchildren, Jessica Heathcock and her husband, Corry, Tonya Price, and Paul Wayne Burnett; and great grandchildren, Cora, Asher, and Claire Heathcock, Jessie Honeycutt, Kyle Ramey, and Paige Burnett.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Melvin Jackson; son, Daniel Powell; and brothers, Clifford, Glen, and Freddie Halyard; and sister in law, Martha Burnett.
