James W. Chamberlain, aged fifty-nine years and seven months, died suddenly of heart disease, on Tuesday, December 6, 1921, at 6:15 p.m., while he was on his way to his work, being night engineer at Hotel Bentley. When he reached the hotel sidewalk in front of the Western Union office he was stricken and fell to the sidewalk, expiring immediately. The remains were taken to his home on Main street, Pineville, near the Baptist Church.

Deceased leaves a widow, who was Miss Anna Rachal, and five children, as follows: Ollie and Adrian Chamberlain of Des Moines, Iowa; Arthur, Victor and Edith Chamberlain of Pineville. He was a nephew of Mrs. Kate Clements of Alexandria, who is the only relative residing here. He was a native of Rapides parish, and has lived here most of his life. He was an efficient engineer, and was highly respected as an upright and honorable citizen.

The funeral took place at 3 o'clock this Wednesday afternoon, interment being made by Hixson Bros., in the Rapides cemetery, Pineville.

The bereaved family have the sympathy of their large circle of friends.
