Services for W. Wade Dark are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2007, at Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Matthew McKellar officiating.

Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery under direction of Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Directors.

Mr. Dark died Tuesday, July 3, 2007, in Tyler at the age of 86.

He was born to Robert L. and Anne B. Dark on March 16, 1921, in Whitehouse.

Mr. Dark lived in Tyler all his life, was a member of Sylvania Baptist Church, and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Dark was retired from Tyler Pipe Industries. He loved his extended family and will be remembered as a loving husband, father and by most simply as "papaw."

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Lois Roycroft Dark; three sons, Bobby Dark and wife Shirley of Dallas, Joe Dark and wife Judy of Tyler, Ray Dark and wife Delores of Chandler; 24 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Katherine Roycroft of Dallas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Ronny Roycroft, Johnny Whitworth, Pat Dark, David Haney, Denny Parks and Josh Dark.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 5, 2007, at Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home, Tyler.
