Frances was an active member of The Episcopal Church of the Epiphany in Newton, NC, and enjoyed spending time with her many friends and especially her family.
In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Marion St. Pierre MacDowell; sister, Catherine Self; and brother, Richard Stone.
Survivors include her daughter, Atea Foster and husband Ben of Fletcher, NC; son, Michael MacDowell of Charlotte, NC; step-daughters, Pauline Richard and husband, Billy, of Charlotte, NC, Julia Flemming and husband Mike of Knoxville, TN, Beverly MacDowell and husband Larry Casper of Asheville, NC, and Rosalie MacDowell of California.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Sunday, August 13, 2017, at The Episcopal Church of the Epiphany in Newton, NC, with Rev. Tim McRee officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following the service.
