Ada M. Kolleda, age 95, of Marion, died peacefully at her residence on Wednesday morning, July 4, 2007. She has gone to rest with her Lord following a two-year illness.

She was born at home in Waldo, Ohio, on March 4, 1912, the daughter of the late George Benjamin and Hazel Edith Denman Herbert. Ada graduated from Waldo High School in 1930.

On September 12, 1936, Ada married her lifelong companion, Delmar Stephan Kolleda, at her family's farm in Waldo. This farm they would later inherit and dedicate their entire lives to. A hard working soul, Ada managed to care for all the responsibilities asked of a farmer's wife and homemaker. She worked side by side with Del in the fields, and they spent many retirement years on their farm before moving to Marion.

In their retirement, Ada and Delmar traveled the country in their motor home. They ventured out west, north into Canada, south into Mexico, plus trips to Europe and several cruises; all the while making friends, taking pictures and savoring priceless memories. Delmar preceded her in death on March 8, 2003.

Embodying both toughness and compassion, Ada demanded the most of her daughter, Cheryl, but more importantly she was supportive of Cheryl's passion for showing horses. Both Ada and Dell loved going to the horse shows and made new friends where ever they went.

With a fond heart for the earth, Ada loved to garden, tend to her flowers, take care of her yard and simply be outdoors. She was fond of good music and she and Del enjoyed following the Big Bands of the Swing Era.

Ada was a member of the First United Church of Christ in Marion and their Sunshine Club, and the Sunbury Horse Club.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter: Cheryl (David) Dunkley of Weatherford, Texas; and many treasured family, friends, and neighbors who she always kept in her thoughts and prayers.

Including her parents and husband, Ada was preceded in death by her brother, Leroy Herbert.
