Ida M. Anderson, 90, formerly of Mitchell, died Friday, Jan. 17 [1992] at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services were held Monday at Faith Lutheran Church in Mitchell with the Rev. Richard Zellmer officiating. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery, Mitchell.

Mrs. Anderson was born July 17, 1901 at Lemon, So. Dak., the daughter of Michael and Mary (Hansen) Seffinga. Ida moved to Wisconsin with her family, later moving to the St. Ansgar area.

March 27, 1920 she married Andrew Anderson in Mason City. They lived in different areas of north Iowa. Andrew died in 1976. Ida was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church, Mitchell, and Ladies Aid of the church and the WWI Veteran's Auxilliary. She loved music and enjoyed gardening, sewing and crocheting.

Survivors include five daughters, Gladys Brych of Osage; Mrs. Raymond (Katherine) Christensen of Alden; Adeline Beinke, Aurora, Colorado; Mrs. Walter (Bernice) Peterson, Las Cruces, NM; and Mrs. Marvin (Darlene) Buckmaster of Westminster, Colorado; three sons, Glen of Austin, Texas; Melvin of Ionia, and Arnold of Glendale, Arizona; one sister, Gertrude Ruby of Exeland, Wisc.; one brother, Robert Seffinga, Hayward, Wisc.; 30 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three sisters, one brother and one grandson.

Dick Lenz, 58, of hutchinson, Minn., passed away at his home Wednesday Jan. 15 [1992]. Funeral services were held Sat., Jan. 18 ... at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Hutchinson. Interment was in Oakland Cemetery in Hutchinson, Minn.

Dick Lenz was born Nov. 16, 1933 in Otranto. He was the son of Thomas and Bessie (May) Lenz. Dick attended grade school in Otranto and later graduated from the St. Ansgar High School in 1951.

Dick entered the U.S. Army Oct. 23, 1952 at Mason City. He was stationed in Alaska in the Infantry Division. He was honorably discharged Oct. 22, 1954 from Fort Carson, Colorado, achieving the rank of Corporal. He continued his education by attending the Univ. of Nebraska and later Iowa State College, Ames.

June 27, 1956, he was united in marriage to Margaret Houg of St. Ansgar, in Mason City. The marriage was blessed with five children. Before moving to Hutchinson in 1965 they lived in Litchfield and Mason City. In 1966 Dick developed Mid States Sales and Supplies and worked out of his garage. In 1967 Ag Systems was created and is now operated by his son, Craig. Dick also started the Prairie House Family Restaurant chain in 1976, which was sold in 1984. In 1983 he acquired Standard Printing and added the Office Supply Store which is now operated by his son, Brian. Dick has been honored with the Small Business Man of the Year award. He was also the Minnesota Plant Food and Chemical Association past president.

In December of 1990, cancer was diagnosed and he began treatment with the Hutchinson Community Hospital, later joining the Hospice program. He returned to his home January 9, passing away Jan. 15 at the age of 58 years.

Mr. Lenz is survived by his wife, Margaret; three sons, Craig and Claire Lenz, Brian and Patti Lenz, Paul and Lana Lenz; all of Hutchinson, Minn.; two daughters, Sandy and Alan Haggerty of Corcoran, Minn., and Lori and Greg Haffley of Prior Lake, Minn; grandchildren, Lauren and Phillip Haggerty, Cassandra and Ellen Lenz; one brother, Roger Lenz and wife Filma of Riceville; two sisters, Marlese Fredericks and husband Don of Rantoul, Illinois and Bonnie Gemaehlich and husband Al of Mason City; sister-in-law, Elaine Lenz of Belmond.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Tom Lenz.
