Lynwood “Lyn” Spencer Absher, 74, of Chubbuck, passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2016, at the Hospice Home in Ammon, surrounded by two of his loving daughters and several grandchildren. He was under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho.

Lyn was born on May 9, 1941, in Washington, D.C., to F. Spencer and L. Fern Laign Absher. He grew up in Inkom and Chubbuck, Idaho.

He joined the U.S. Air Force in March of 1959. In the late 1970’s, he joined the National Guard.
In 1960 he married Rita Orner and they were later divorced. In 1962 he married Alice Orner and they were later divorced. He then married Marilyn Trucks, who preceded him in death.

Lyn owned his own roofing company in Denver. He worked as a truck driver and a concrete worker. He worked for the Railroad and for the Forest Service at Yellowstone National Park. He was a member of the American Legion and the NRA.

Lyn loved to camp and be outdoors, he was an avid reader, and doing puzzles of any kind. He was a Jack of all trades.

He was survived by his daughters: Lori Ann (Lance) Burnside, of Blackfoot, ID, LaShell (Paul) Morgan, and Roxanne M. (Randy) Foster-Walton, both of Idaho Falls, ID, 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, F. Spencer and L. Fern Absher; his son, Daniel Wright.

A gathering of family and friends to honor our father will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 13, 2016, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls, Idaho. Military rites will be at 12:45 p.m., by Bonneville County Veterans and Idaho Military Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be mailed to Hospice Home of Ammon, 1810 Moran, Idaho Falls, Idaho 83401.
