Jacquita Turner Cox, 90, passed away August 22, 2019, in her home in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at 11:00am in Coffelt Funeral Chapel. Pastor Jack Miller of Kuna, Idaho will be conduct the service.
Jacquita was born to parents, Otho and Daisy Turner on May 17, 1929, in Terlton, Oklahoma. The family moved to Idaho where she attended Kootenai Elementary, graduating from Sandpoint High School in 1947. As a young girl she tallied lumber at her father's mill in Kootenai. She enjoyed picking huckleberries and bought her first bicycle by selling berries. Jacquita married Robert (Bob) Cox in 1948 and they built several businesses together in Sandpoint until sadly, he passed in 1988.
She was preceded in death by her son, Allen, who would take her to the Cowgirl Corral to learn western line dancing. Jacquita was the middle child and was preceded by her sisters Margie, Barbara, Patsy and Joy. It was so much fun when the "The Turner Girls" got together, they would laugh and tell stories about all their escapades.
Jacquita loved shopping for clothes and always dressed to the "nines". Her notable saying was, "Are you really going to wear that?" She moved to Coeur d'Alene with her friend Pete, discovering the convenience of Macy's, Ross and T J Maxx.
Jacquita is survived by her children, Don Cox (Kim) and Jackie Heerlein (John); her grandchildren, Tevis, Kimbera (Bee), Jennifer, Adrian, Jim, Kellie and Dallas; her 12 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed by her longtime friend, Peter Ferrick, of Coeur d'Alene.
Jacquita will be fondly remembered by family and friends.
