Gaylord Eugene “Buddy” Tannehill, Sr., 86, of Springfield, IL died Sunday, September 8, 2019 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL. He was born November 5, 1932 to Gaylord Valintine and Margret Irene (Wanless) Tannehill.
Gaylord was a lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 137, American Legion Post 32 and Post 905. He enjoyed playing cards, watching sports, hanging out with friends at bars and his clubs.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Margret Ann, parents, brothers; Bill, Fred, Clyde, and Harry, and sister, Pat Hodson.
He is survived by his children; Gayla Cheffy of Springfield, IL, Gene Tannehill of Springfield, IL, Duane Tannehill of Springfield, IL, Stephanie Clark of Jackson, MO, brothers; Ed Tannehill of Elma, WA, Jerry Tannehill of Mesa, AZ, George Tannehill of Springfield, IL, sister, Joann Buckles of Pheonix, AZ, and several nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
A memorial service with military honors will take place Tuesday, September 24, 2019, at 2pm, at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield, IL.
