Sarah was transcribed in William Kittrell's survey of 2007 at Mack Smith, here is what he transcribed. " McLawhorn, Virginia (b. Unknown - d. 9 Jan 1941), Aged 71 Years." Her death certificate also stated burial location as Mack Smith Cemetery. A daughter Queenie and a son Luther Columbus are buried here. The burial location for her spouse is not known at this time. It's possible both are in unmarked graves.

****Many trees on ancestry have listed a Jerry (Jeremiah) McLawhorn who died in 1916 as her spouse, this is inaccurate, that Jerry was born in 1833. An article (#845, page 631) posted in book "Chronicles of Pitt County, Vol II." by family, who listed sources, listed his birth year as Jan 1854, his death as 22 Nov 1924. The one compelling fact for the Jerry who died in 1916 being her spouse, is his father was Jonathan Mclawhorn, same as Jerry who died in 1924. The sources that dispute hime being her spouse are 1870, 1900 and 1910 census reports which list her spouse as being born in 1853/1854. This may call for further research to see if they are same person

Also worth noting, same article, #845, it was written that both Sarah and Jerry are buried at Pleasant Hill FWB Church Cemetery, they did not state what county. Currently the only Pleasant Hill on findagrave near or close to Pitt is in Craven County. It is not named in William Kittrell's survey. Sarah is shown at Mack Smith****
