Shawnee resident Lavada (Louise) Nease, 82, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Sunday, July 1, in Shawnee. She was born Sept 24, 1924, to Leonard and Carrie Mae Willoughby in Santa Rita, N. M. She grew up in the Ada area and attended school there for several years. She met Charles Richard Nease and married him Aug. 3, 1941, in Roff, Okla. They located in Stratford and subsequently moved to Shawnee in the mid 1940s and lived here since that time. She was an avid cook for friends and family. She loved to crochet and she and her husband enjoyed time together. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Shawnee, Hobo Camping Club, and Ladie's Bible Study. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a granddaughter, Teresa Dawn Simon; one brother and three sisters. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Glenna and John Simon of Shawnee; son and daughter-in-law, C.R. (Rick) Nease and Sharon of Tecumseh; grandsons, Matthew Simon of Shawnee, John Stephen Simon and Terri of Shawnee; granddaughter Sherri Simon of Orlando, Fla.; great-grandsons, Michael Edward and Jacob Leroy Simon, Shawnee; numerous other relatives. Service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Walker Funeral Service Chapel with Bill Matthews officiating and Phil Thompson assisting. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
