Politician. Juan Nepomuceno de la Garza y ​​Evia was a prominent Mexican lawyer and politician, who was governor of the State of Nuevo León at the time of the conflicts between centralists and federalists; in addition, during his government the war of independence of Texas and the war with the United States took place. Upon his death, he was proclaimed Meritorious of the State of Nuevo León and it was ordered that his name be inscribed in gold letters in the presidency room of the Superior Court of Justice, as well as in the auditorium of the Civil College. He was half brother of the governors Simón and Trinidad de la Garza Melo.
