D. Odies Hindman, 96, of 2321 Barnes Bridge Road, Dallas, died at 1:50PM Saturday, October 25, 1986 at Garland Memorial Hospital in Garland. Services were held at 2PM Monday, October 27th at Cooper Sorrells Funeral Home in Honey Grove. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery. Grandsons served as pallbearers.
Born in the Georgia community of Lamar County on December 23, 1889, he was the son of Blaze Hindman and Rebecca Beckum. He married Beaulah Pauline Denison January 16, 1913 in the Sash community north of Honey Grove. She died July 27, 1976.
He was a retired barber and previously owned and operated South Side Barber Shop in Honey Grove. He was a member of the Edgemount Baptist Church in Mesquite. He is survived by two sons, H.D. Hindman and O.L. Hindman, both of Dallas; a daughter, Reba Pierce of Dallas; nine grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
