Arno Bernhard Birr, age 92 of River Falls, died on Thursday, Sept. 24, at Kinnic Health & Rehab in River Falls.

He was born the son of Bernhard and Ida (Bartsch) Birr on Feb. 24, 1923, in Good Thunder, Minn. In 1944, he married, Marion Duden. Arno began working in the Sand and Gravel Business and later began farming. Arno and his family moved to River Falls in 1971. He loved tractor pulls and especially watching his son, Marvin and grandson, Adam compete. He also enjoyed spending winters at their home in Arizona.

Arno was preceded in death by his son, Jeffery A. Birr; parents, Bernhard and Ida Birr; sister, Laurina (Edwin) Bunde; and brother, Walter Birr.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Marion; children, JoAnn (Chuck) Fulks and Marvin (Brenda) Birr; grandchildren, Kimberly (Bill) Seagraves, Susie (Rick) Smith, and Adam Birr; great grandchildren, Jesse, KC, Kyle, and Mandy; and sister-in-law, Louise Birr.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 3, at 11 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, 137 S. Houk Street, Good Thunder, MN. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 2, at the Bakken-Young Funeral Home, 805 E. Division Street, River Falls, WI, and on Saturday from 10-11 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Good Thunder.
