Barbara J Blackburn age 90 of Rock Falls died Wednesday Sept. 4, 2019 at Regency Care of Sterling.
She was born July 11, 1929 in Dixon the daughter of Albert and Hazel (Loomis) Grams.
She had worked at the Freeman Shoe Company in Dixon and at Lawrence Brothers in Sterling from 1968 to 1978. She had been a member of St Andrews Catholic Church in Rock Falls and the Sterling Moose Lodge. Barbara enjoyed going to garage sales, camping, fishing and traveling.
Barbara married Harold L. Blackburn Dec. 24, 1949 in Ottawa, IL. He preceded her in death December 26, 1991. She was also preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law, Paul King; brother, Richard Grams and sisters, Marilyn Portner and Jacqueline Staley.
Barbara is survived by her children, Richard W. (Barbara) Blackburn and Brenda Lou King;
granddaughter Susan Blackburn; great-grand- daughter, Sarah Blackburn; sister, Ilene (Bill) Topolski and several nieces and nephews.
In her life there were no strangers, just friends she had yet to meet.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday Sept. 7, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Jones Funeral Home in Dixon with the Rev. Keith Romke officiating.
Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Dixon. Visitation will be on Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 in the funeral home. A memorial has been established.
