Royal Towsley/Tousley began his life in Vermont, migrated across the country through Ohio where he met his future bride Armina Hubbard. They had several children: Polly, Hannah, Lewis, Julie Ann, Thomas, Martha, James, Harriet, and Nelson. Some of the children remained in Ohio, some moved with the family to California. Royal died in California and after his death, his wife, Armina moved back across the country to Indiana, dying there in 1882.
