John H. “Pork” George, age 82, of London, Kentucky passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2019 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
He leaves behind his sister, June House of London, Ky; two nieces, Kimberly H. Smith, Tami George Lyle & husband Cary; one great niece, Brianna Fischer & husband Adam; two great nephews, Cameron and Logan Smith, plus a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Estill and Lyda George; and by his brother, James Estill George; one niece, Kaye House; one great nephew, Zach Ziehm.
John attended Sue Bennett College and was a veteran of the United States Army. He retired from Contel as the Manager of Network Design. He was a member of Long Branch Baptist Church, and a member of American Legion Post 16.
Funeral services for John H. “Pork” George will be held on Friday, September 6, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Todd Parker officiating. Military honors will be provided by the local DAV Chapter 158 of Keavy, KY. Burial will follow at A. R. Dyche Memorial Park at a later date.
