Selina's parents, Victor Masse and Emelie Lucile Vincent, were married on August 29, 1830 in Varzy (Nièvre) in France. Loucile Vincent and Victor Masse' or Massey, came from France with two son's, Eugene and Louis, about 1840. They settled in Ames where there was a community of French emigrants.
Selina married Randolph Strang in 1860.
Mary Victorine Strang was born 8 April 1863.
Randolph was thrown from a horse and died 14 December 1863.
She married James David Caruthers in 1864 and Alice was born in 1866, Ida born in 1868 and James Crouthers Jr. was born in 1871.
James, Sr. died in 1871 and in 1872 she married Sostans ( Dude) Chebret who was born in France in 1840.
Edward Chebret was born in 1873, Louis in 1876 .
Sostans joined the Confederate Army, but served only a few months and requested discharge as he was a citizen of France. He later was accused of stealing a horse, a serious crime at that time, and escaped to Mexico where he lived until his death in 1889' at age 49.
Selina continued to live in Liberty County until her death 3 January 1925 .
She is buried at the Hardin Chapel Methodist Cemetery in Hardin, Liberty County, Texas beside her son, Louis Chebret.
