"A Short History of the Mangums of NC" notes that he owned a large plantation
in Orange Co at Flat River called Locust Grove and m Elizabeth Harris, dau of Dr.
Nathaniel Harris and Debora Hopkins and had 8 children.
Land was at the intersection where the old Oxford Hillsborough Road crossed Dial's Creek. Tract of 244 acres bought by Dr Euel Lyon in 1908.
Ellison had more than 1400 acres at his death.

ELLISON MANGUM FAMILY CEMETERY
Located in Mangum Township about 400 yards behind a 2-story white house on N. Bahama Road (SR 1607) just beyond its intersection with Hampton Road (SR 1603).
This abandoned cemetery has at least 40 graves only one of which has a legible marker. Canvassed by Mildred Harris (1981).
