In 1946, she married the love of her life, Clarence “Mick” Lowe of Deer Lodge. Together, they raised four children who greatly value the loving home they provided in Missoula.
Bernice’s career began in Bonner at the Anaconda Company and culminated in her retirement from Champion International in 1992. Retirement took the Lowes to Southern California to settle closer to their children and their families. Bernice enjoyed watching her grandchildren grow and play sports; water aerobics with her neighbors; and book club with her friends. She was beloved by all who knew her and her loving ways will be deeply missed.
Bernice is survived by Mick, her husband of 72 years, daughters Cheryl Brooks (Mike) and Marsha Fuller, and sons, Mike (Jenny) and Mark (Letty), and sister, Gladys Peterson, as well as seven grandchildren and two great-grandsons, all of California. Other close family includes nieces and nephews in California, Texas and Delaware. She is predeceased by her sister, Marie Rogge, and brothers, Jim Hove and Al Hove.
A private family commemoration in Missoula will be held at a later date.
Donations can be made in her name to the American Cancer Society.
