THOMASVILLE Mrs. Jannie Kathleen Chuck Murphy, 80, a resident of Thomasville passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at her residence. Kathleen was born May 24, 1931 in Guilford County, NC a daughter of the late Kenny Causey Jarrett and Nancy Florence Lamb Jarrett. Her adult life was spent as a farmer and homemaker. Kathleen was a caring and giving person putting the needs of others ahead of her own. She loved to cook and entertain for her family and have family gatherings and enjoyed gardening, flowers and canning fruits and vegetables. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by five brothers and five sisters. On October 21, 1951 she married Victor Ray Murphy who died in April of 2000. Surviving are her sons, Danny Ray Murphy of the home, Victor Dean Murphy and wife Karen of Thomasville, NC, David Watford Murphy and fiance Lori Hull of Wallburg, NC; daughters, Sandra Mullies of Thomasville, NC, Tammy Cecil of Farmer, NC; sisters Margaret Staley of Julian, NC, Gladys Evans of Germanton, NC, Marion Hayworth of Thomasville, NC; grandchildren, Jason Murphy, Dillon Murphy and Cody Tilley, one great granddaughter McKenzie Murphy. A graveside service and interment will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, January 29, 2012 in the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Mitchell Hayworth officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the Mt Pleasant United Methodist Church, 6516 Old Greensboro Rd. Thomasville, NC 27360. Memorial contributions may be sent to Mt.
