James William Anderson, 71, of Dawson, passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at his home. Graveside services at Indian Creek Cemetery in Fannin County will be held at a later date.
James was born March 27, 1948 in Leonard to John Wesley Anderson and Ora Alice (Chennault) Anderson. He was raised in the Leonard and Trenton area of Northeast Texas and was a graduate of Trenton High School. James was the owner of Anderson Construction company for many years and later owned Anderson Whitetails in Navarro County. He was a faithful member of the NRA and avid supporter of President Donald Trump.
James was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 48 years, Kay (Henderson) Anderson; two brothers, Roy Anderson and John Anderson and two sisters, Pauline Lillie (Anderson) Wolf and Bessie Mae (Anderson) Burden.
Survivors include two children, Scott Anderson and wife, Christine of Mexia and Michelle Davis and husband, Roger of Hewitt; brother, Don Anderson and wife, Claudine; sister, Elizabeth Anderson; sister-in-law, Adele Anderson (widow of John Anderson); four grandchildren, Michael Anderson, Ashley Anderson and Anna Anderson, all of Mexia and Emily Davis of Hewitt; several nieces and nephews and other extended family members as well as many friends.
