Glenn was born and raised in Jackson County in Arkansas. He served in the Conservation Corps for two years before enlisting in the United States Army in 1939. He served for six years, primarily in the Pacific.

After his discharge in 1945, he settled in California, where he worked for Pacific Gas & Electric Company. He started as a laborer in 1949 and retired after 32 years as the manager of the Jackson, CA office.

Glenn married Dorothy Quayle in September of 1972 and they lived very happily in Jackson for nearly 50 years.

Always a sports fan, Glenn especially enjoyed following the Argonaut High School Mustangs in Jackson. He was an avid golfer in his retirement years, and was particularly proud of shooting his age at 79 and also having recorded four holes-in-one.

Glenn helped fundraise and develop the Amador Senior Center in Jackson. He was also heavily involved in securing a van for the Rotary Club of Jackson to transport cancer patients. Glenn drove patients for years to the Sacramento and Stockton areas for their treatments.

He is survived by Dorothy, his loving wife of 46 years. He is also survived by his son-in-law Pat Campion, stepdaughter Lynn Quayle, stepson Tom Quayle (Diana), and daughter-in-law Carol Quayle. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Mabel Dane Hartsell, brother Willie Nicks, son Randy Nicks, and daughter Pam Campion. He was also preceded in death by his grandson Sean Quayle, son-in-law Dan Quayle and great granddaughter Penelope Campion.

Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life on Friday, April 5 at 12:00 p.m. at Daneri Mortuary, 415 Broadway in Jackson with a reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Glenn's memory to Hospice of Amador & Calaveras at www.hospiceofamador.org or by mail to P.O. Box 595, Jackson, CA 95642
