Betty J. Boatwright PORTSMOUTH

Betty J. Boatwright, 78, a former resident of Emily Green Shores, Westmoreland Avenue, passed away Oct. 12, 2006, at Allzwell Assisted Living Center in Chesapeake. She was born in Norfolk to the late Wallace and Bessie Jordan. Betty was a member of Park View Baptist Church and a former member of the Portsmouth Music Club. She was a school teacher for Portsmouth public schools and also was a Portsmouth Circuit Court Clerk for 10 years. Those left to cherish her memory are a stepgranddaughter, Amy Lacroix and husband Leo and special friends Ann Wetherbee and husband Joe. A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Aaron Brittain. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to Park View Baptist Church, General Fund.
