Aires Duarte Agueda of Atwater passed away unexpectedly on August 18, 2019 at the age of 44. Aires was born July 22, 1975 in Gilroy, California to Rosa da Conceição Teixeira Agueda and Moises Silveira Agueda (deceased). At 2 years old, Aires and his family moved to São Jorge, Açores, where they lived for many years until returning back to the United States in 1991. Aires became involved in the dairy and farming industry at a young age. He would later pursue his dreams of starting his own dairy business.

Aires’s pride and joy were his three beautiful daughters: Madelene, Aireanna and Annalisce that he shared with his former spouse Melanie Brasil. He loved spending time with his girls and teaching them all he knew. Some of his proudest moments were helping his girls show for 4H, accompanying them in the Holy Ghost parades, and attending their school functions.

He enjoyed spending time with his girlfriend, Amy Plagenza, family, and friends. As well as, riding his horses, participating in oxen pulls, vacadas and attending Portuguese celebrations. He was involved in the Portuguese community, serving as President of Festa St. Antão Gustine and he volunteered and supported many Holy Ghost festas, which was a testament to his strong faith and heritage.

Aires will forever be remembered as a loving father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was an amazing man, who was tragically taken from us too soon. To have known him was a blessing. His mischievous smile and magnetic personality will be deeply missed, but will live in our hearts forever.
Aires was preceded in death by: his father Moises Silveira Agueda and sister Silvia Agueda.

He is survived by his loving daughters, Madelene Agueda (21), Aireanna Agueda (16), and Annalisce Agueda (13); his mother, Rosa Teixeira Agueda; his brother, Paulo Agueda; his sisters, Irene Agueda Cabral, Nelia Agueda Silveira, and Lisa Agueda. To honor his memory, Aires also leaves behind his girlfriend, Amy Plagenza and her daughter Gabriella, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
