Bonnie Jeanne was born at home in rural Sherman, SD on April 18, 1935 to Joseph and Hilma (Rislov) Paulson. She moved with her parents and brother Howard to rural Florence, SD. She was baptized in 1935 in Helgen Lutheran Church and confirmed in 1948 in Bergen Lutheran Church. Bonnie attended school in Florence and graduated Salutatorian in 1953. After high school, Bonnie worked at the JCPenney store in Watertown.

Bonnie married Judean Russell Schwinger on May 27, 1956 in Helgen Lutheran Church. They moved to Aberdeen, SD where Judean attended college and Debra Jean was born. After Judean's graduation, they moved to Watertown, where Danny Judean and Janell Marie were born.

Bonnie was home with their children until they were in school. Then Bonnie worked at the Watertown Junior High School overseeing Study Hall. Most of her work life was spent as the receptionist/bookkeeper for the Skelgas Company, which later became Getty Oil, then Thermogas. One of the highlights of her career was when the office was awarded a trip to Puerto Rico. Judean and Bonnie enjoyed the trip with her co-workers and spouses.

Bonnie was involved in church activities, including ladies aid and circle. Bonnie and Judean attended Bergen Lutheran Church in their early years and then many years at Grace Lutheran in Watertown. In later years, they became members of Lutheran Church of our Redeemer in Watertown.

Bonnie was a Red Cross volunteer and belonged to the Watertown Faculty Wives. She enjoyed playing bridge, crafts, knitting, sewing, quilting, embroidery, word scrambles, crossword puzzles, table puzzles, birthday lunches and coffee with her friends, family birthday parties, and reunions. Bonnie knitted and donated many prayer shawls to the church and baby blankets and infant stocking caps to the hospital. She knitted hundreds of zip front hooded baby sweaters. Almost every baby in Bonnie's immediate and extended family has received one as a gift, as well as many friends. She knitted many dish cloths, scarves and afghans for family and friends and embroidered sets of dish towels for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Family has also received beautiful handmade quilts.

As an avid Watertown Arrow supporter, Bonnie rarely missed an event. She and Judean were long time Vikings and Twins fans. They seldom missed a game on TV, and attended many Twins games. A memorable moment for Bonnie was when Twins player Kirby Puckett hit a foul ball behind home plate. While others tried to catch the ball, it landed in her lap. She kept it in a special ball case on a shelf alongside her Kirby Puckett teddy bear. Bonnie and Judean enjoyed family vacations, including camping and road trips. They traveled extensively after retirement, visiting 49 states. They made new friends on bus tours and enjoyed car trips together. They made many trips to Branson, MO. Bonnie enjoyed a variety of music, but in later years, Daniel O'Donnell was her favorite. Bonnie and Judean enjoyed dancing and being members of the Community Concert Series. Family activities were a priority and she attended many of her grandchildren's events. Bonnie was proud of her family and especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Bonnie is survived by her children, Debra (David) Burdine of Sioux Falls, Danny (Theresa Kerksiek) Schwinger of Ft Smith, AR, and Janell Renner of Watertown; seven grandchildren, Kristin (Kale) Harkema, Heidi (Ned) Sacipovic, Alisa (Nathan) Griffin, Staci (Brian) Rider, John (Erin) Schwinger, Adam (Ashley) Renner, and Alex (Rachel) Renner; 17 great grandchildren, Kiara and Kerigan Harkema, Cain and Talon Haggar, Medina, Maida, and Musa Sacipovic, Lydia Nichols, Bryson, Brooklyn, and Bella Rider, Olivia and Zoey Schwinger, Evelinn, Nora, Ruth, and Archer Renner; one brother Howard (Barb) Paulson of Watertown, one sister, Dianne Sumner of Sioux Falls, sisters-in-law Lynn Paulson of Outing, MN, Pearl Paulson of Florence, and Jeri Paulson of Seattle, WA.

She was preceded in death by her husband Judean; parents Joseph and Hilma Paulson; four brothers Roger (Joan), Dayton, Ronald, and Paul Paulson, brother-in-law Warren Sumner, daughter-in-law Mary Jo Schwinger; and three great grandchildren, Joseph Renner, John Renner, and Mary Gail Griffin.
