John M. Ambro, 51, Independence, MO died Nov. 30, 2006. Services will be 7 pm, Monday, Dec. 4, 2006 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; private committal at Longview Memorial Gardens at a later date. Visitation will be 5-7 pm, Monday at the funeral home. The family suggests contributions to the Juvenile Diabetes Assoc.
John was born Feb. 9, 1955 in Kansas City, MO. He graduated from Northeast High School, attended UMKC and later graduated from the Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with a degree in Divinity. He was a salesman for Scotts Lawn Service and in the past had sold for Spec Roofing Co. and Clear Mountain Water. John also served 11 years as a youth minister for Calvary Baptist Church in Independence, Winwood Baptist Church in K.C. North, Bethany Baptist Church in K.C., MO and First Baptist Church in Augusta, AR. He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing.
John was preceded in death by his parents Jean & John Ambro. He is survived by his wife of 27 years Donna K. Ambro, of the home; daughters Amber M Ambro; Ashley R. Gibson and husband Ken, all of Independence; sisters Linda Ambro, CA; Sally Conroy, K.C., MO; Patricia Halstead, Gower, MO; grand daughters Madeline Tapko and Grace Gibson; and in-laws Don & Marilyn Wallis, Independence.
