Albert D. Draughn, 80, of Bluefield, VA died Tuesday, October 2, 1984 at a Bluefield hospital after a short illness. He was a retired employee of U.S. Steel, Mine 14, Gary, and a member of Abbs Valley Baptist Church.

He was born in 1904 in Robbins, TN.

Survivors include his wife, Ida Draughn; sons, Albert Draughn of Arlington, TX, and Ted Draughn of Virginia Beach, VA; daughters, Dorothy Draughn-Elam of Auburn, AL, and Gretta Draughn-Freeman of Waco, TX; sisters, Della Draughn-Hecock of Marion, VA and Hazel Draughn-Richmond of Joppa, MD; eight grandchildren; and six greatgrandchildren.

Funeral will be Friday, October 5, 1984 at 2:00 p.m. at Rodriguez-Pocahontas Union Funeral Chapel, Pocahontas, VA with Phillip Hall and Rev. Arnold Gillespie officiating, and entombment at Greenhill Memory Gardens, Claypool Hill, VA.
