Vickie Hale Ratliff

Vickie Hale Ratliff passed away on October 3, 2015, joining her heavenly father, husbands and sons.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 3:00 PM at First Baptist Chapel. Interment will follow at Resthaven.

Vickie was born in Canton, Texas on January 21, 1934. She was raised in Midland, Texas where she met and married the love of her life, Don Hale Sr. Don preceded Vickie in death on June 2, 1994.

Vickie spent many years working and managing restaurants in Midland before becoming a stay-at-home mom in the early 80s. Don & Vickie were members of Temple Baptist Church for many years and then Vickie joined First Baptist Church.

Vickie got involved in the area senior dances where she met Duane Ratliff and they later married in Midland, Texas and she moved to Andrews, Texas until moving back to Midland in 2012. Duane preceded her in death in 2014.

Vickie loved to dance, playing cards and dominoes with family and friends but her favorite things were beating Don Jr. at head-up dominoes on Sundays after dinner and spoiling her precious great-grandchildren.

Vickie leaves behind to cherish her memory her sons, Clayton Hale his wife Sharon, their children Blaine, Randy, Kayla, Greg and families; and Don Hale Jr. his wife Lesa, their children Travis and Cara and their families; her daughter Kathy Hale, grandson Sam Lynch and his children; her sisters, Stella Dixon, Nettie Wright & Fay Wilson; brother, Carl Friday; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and many special nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sons, Brad Lynch & Wesley Lynch; her parents, five sisters and three brothers.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Sam Lynch, Blaine Hale, Travis Hale, Greg Wells, Randy Wells & great-grandson, Gage Hale.

The family would like to thank Visiting Angels, Hospice of Midland and Anthony with the Mabee Center.
