Thomas “Tom” David Shawver Sr., 80, went to be with his Lord on August 21, 2019 at his home in Young County surrounded by his family.
A visitation will be held at Bible Baptist Church on Monday, August 26, 2019 from 6:00pm to 7:00pm. A Funeral Service will be Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at 10:00am at Newport Baptist Church.
Tom was born May 9, 1939 to Earl and Inez (Myers) Shawver in Seymour, Texas. He married Shirley Ann Damron on May 30, 1992 in Graham, Texas. Tom was a Heavy Equipment Operator for 31 years but was most proud of serving his country in the Army. He enjoyed spending his time with his family.
Tom is preceded in death by his first wife Juanita (Morton) Shawver; his parents Earl and Inez Shawver; brother, Charles Shawver; and grandchildren Abygail Shawver and Garrett Douglas Damron.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife Shirley Shawver; children, Melissa Foster and husband Mike of Denton, Tommy Shawver and wife Stacy of Throckmorton, Kevin Damron and wife Trishell of Jacksboro, Deanna Williams and husband Randall of Megargel, Doug Damron and wife Michele of Olney, Emily Hughes and Husband Roy of Breckenridge; siblings, Dennis Shawver, Barbara Morton, and Bonnie Kanady; along with 18 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
