My grandfather married at a young age of 18 to my grandmother Isabel Canales, 29 yrs. They had six children. Two children; Catarina and Raoul died as newborns. Other children they had were: Elida Piña (Tristan Castañeda); Jorge (Julia Valle) Piña; Ascencio (Cruz Ruiz) Piña; and my father, Gregorio (Maria Santos Idrogo) Piña. After nine years of marriage, they divorced. He, Gregorio, remarried at an elderly age to Sofia Flores living their married life in Port Lavaca, Texas. Sofia died a year before 'Buelito. They are both buried in Port Lavaca, Texas. Even though his death certificate says he was born in 1893; his govt issued card from STAAR County and his SS show the birth as March 12, 1892.
