Pioneer Van Nuys Clubwoman Dies
Of Heart Failure
Victim of a heart attack late Tuesday, Mrs. Agnes Albrook Murray, prominent Van Nuys clubwoman and widow of the late W.J. Murray, pioneer Valley banker succumbed yesterday morning at Physicians and Surgeons Hospital in Glendale.
Services will be held at 10:30AM tomorrow at Praiswater Funeral Home and burial will be made in the family plot at Eldora, Iowa. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Harold Laub of Pasadena and two grandsons, William Murray Laub, student at University of California, Berkeley and David Murray Andrews of North Hollywood.
Mrs. Murray, who has been a housemother at Occidental College in Los Angeles had previously been active in women's organizations and social circles of the Valley since 1925. She is a past President of Van Nuys Woman's Club and Chapter AN of the PEO and was a member for many years of San Fernando Valley Republican Women's Club as well as other groups. The late Mr. Murray, who passed away in 1940 was Vice President of the Van Nuys Branch, California Bank and a director of the California Trust Company.
