Darlene Viers, age 77, of Belleville. Died peacefully at her residence on Monday morning, August 12, 2019.
Darlene is the beloved wife of Luther for fifty-four wonderful years; dear mother of Clayton (Suzanne) Viers of Brownstown, Kenneth (Jaime) Viers of Jackson and Angela Holder of Belleville. Mrs. Viers is also survived by her eight cherished grandchildren and siblings, Carol Edwards of Virginia, Linda Owens of Pinckney, Pat Veerkamp of Belleville, Anthony Veerkamp of Willis and Barbara (David) Rayburn of Cedarville along with many other extended family and friends. Sadly, she is preceded in death by her parents, Alphonse (Mary) Veerkamp and her brother, John Veerkamp.
Born on October 2, 1941 in Greensburg, Indiana, Darlene eventually moved to the Belleville area. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, knitting, wintering in Florida and family gatherings. She will be truly missed.
A funeral service honoring Darlene's life will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, August 15, 2019 in the main chapel of the David C. Brown Funeral Home of Belleville. The Viers family will greet guests from 10 AM.
Fr. John Kiselica of St. Anthony Catholic Church will officiate her service.
Interment will follow at Washtenong Memorial Park, Ann Arbor.
Visitation hours have been arranged for Wednesday from 3-8 PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be directed to the charity of choice.
