Walter Raymond Kmiecik (1911-2016) was the first child born in the United States to Frank Joseph Kmiecik I (1877-1953) and Mary V. Przeklasa Kmiecik (1888-1961), who immigrated to Hamtramck, Michigan from Austrian Poland around 1910.

//Walter Kmiecik, beloved husband of the late Josephine, passed away at the age of 105 on September 12, 2016 in Warren, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his sons, Eugene and David Kmiecik and great-grandson Drew Kmiecik. Mr. Kmiecik is survived by his son Richard Kmiecik; sister Vicky Andrzewski; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday at the Warren Chapel of E.J. Mandziuk and Son from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a Rosary at 6 p.m. The funeral service will be Friday at St. Mark Catholic Church with an Instate at 9 a.m. until Mass at 9:30 a.m. followed by entombment at Resurrection Cemetery.//
