Edith was a native of Randolph County, a lifelong member of Cedar Falls Baptist Church, and retired with 55 years of service from Sapona Manufacturing Co. She was a loving mother and grandmother, a good cook, enjoyed doing for others whether physicially or spiritually, and after retirement she enjoyed visiting with residents in the nursing home, and homebound friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Phil W. Benbow, parents, Alexander, and Lillie Henson Shaw, grandson, Shane Benbow, brothers, Odell Shaw, Dale Shaw, and David Shaw.
Survivors: son, Timothy Benbow, and wife, Corinne, of Franklinville, sister, Rachel Hilliard, of Asheboro, granddaughter, Rebecca Benbow Smith, and husband, Quinton, of Franklinville, great-granddaughter, Isabel Benbow, of Franklinville, great-grandson, Calvin Smith, of Franklinville.
The family would like to express a special thanks to Clapps Nursing Home and to the staff of Randolph Hospice House for their outstanding care.
