Singer. Born Joseph Patrick Daniel Longthorne, even though male his singing impersonation of Dame Shirley Bassey brought him into the spot light. A male impersonating a female was unusual for its time. His singing impersonations of the top stars the like of Frank Sinatra and Tom Jones brought in his audience. Although he impersonated singers he was a singer in his own right and released three platinum albums in his career. He first appeared on television at the age of 14 and eventually rose to fame in 1981 and was given his own television show. Going on to be awarded the MBE in 2012 for his service and Charity work. Late into his career he became ill but carried on his career under going hospital treatment. He was later diagnosed with throat cancer and again carried on working with treatment. After his constant battle with illness he died at his home in Blackpool at the age of 64 with his partner by his side.
