pub in the Fairmont, WV, West Virginian on Sat Nov 16, 1912 - MRS AMOS ENTERS REST - [Recap] Mrs. Dorcas Amos, widow of Edgar W. Amos, died this morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs C.H. Highland at 116 Fairmont ave, after an illness of several [illegible] of a complication of diseases. Mrs Amos was a life long resident of this county and resided for a part of her life near Rivesville. Upon the death of her husband, 9yrs ago, she she came to this city and since resided with her daughter, Mrs. Highland. The deceased was born Dec 22, 1831, being her 81st year at the time of her death. She was the eldest daughter of Ezekiel and Mary Clayton. In early girlhood she joined the church and had lived an exemplary christian life. She was a member of one of the pioneer families of this section. Surviving are the following children: Squire E. S. Amos, Mrs Eli Clayton, Mrs J. L. Straight, Mrs C. H. Highland, Webb Amos, E. L. Amos and Mrs D. N. Musgraves. Three children are deceased. She has 29 grandchildren and 17 greats. Funeral services will be conducted from the M. E. church South on Sunday and interment will be made in Woodlawn cemetery by Undertaker R.C. Jones.
