Mrs. Susanna Van Dame, 64, wife of Joseph W. Van Dame, 22-- North Eighteenth street, died at St. Elizabeth hospital at 10:30pm Monday evening, following a two years' illness. She had been seriously sick for three weeks.
Born in Lafayette, August 15, 1871, the daughter of John and Louise (Delschaeler) Loges, she married Joseph W. Van Dame at St. Boniface church in 1894. Surviving besides the husband, are the following children; Florence and Albert, at home; Mrs. Ray Lamb, Mrs. Jacob Kingma, Mrs. Anthony Posthauer, all of Lafayette; Mrs. Ralph Cain, of Rockwood, MI. Thirteen grandchildren, one brother, Joseph Loges of Phoenix, AZ, and three sisters, Mrs. Mary Kerkhoff, Mrs. Louise Woodard and Mrs. Margaret Kerkhoff, all of Lafayette, also survive.
The body was removed to the Murphy funeral home and was to be returned to the family home at 6pm Thursday evening, where friends may call until time of the funeral, Thursday morning at 9 at St. Lawrence Catholic church, of which she was a member. Rev. Werner Krause, O. F. M., officiating; interment in St. Joseph's cemetery.
