Athern Albert Gray, 81, of Paragould died at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center on Sunday, May 13.

He was born Oct. 27, 1925, in Greene County, the son of the late C.W. and Frances Gray.

He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Virginia Austin Gray; sister, Ellen Gray; brothers, Bernice "Bill" Gray and Elzworth Marion Gray, and his stepson, Kenny Kibler.

He was a retired farmer and bus driver for the Stanford schools, and he was a member of and deacon at Vines Chapel Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda Kibler Gray of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon Kaye and Steve Grimes and Shirley Patricia Ann and C.R. Baine; stepson and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Carol Kibler; sister, Thalia Lee; brothers and sisters-in-law, Chester and Mary Lou Gray, Curtis and Mary Gray, Bobby and Olga Gray and Homer and Deonna Gray; sisters-in-law, Carol Gray and Rosetta Gray, all of Paragould; eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

His life was celebrated at Heath Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Royce Schanda officiating. Burial was in Mount Zion Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were; Patrick Baine, Brad Baine, Danny Gray, Gary Gray, Brian Gray and Michael Gray.

Honorary pallbearers were; Donald Ray Gray, Terry Gray, Teddy Joe Shipman, Scotty Shipman, Leslie Ward, Mark Graper and Jeff Huffmaster.
