Shirley Ann Jackson, 77, of Bloomington, passed away on April 28, 2016 at IU Health Bloomington Hospice House. She was born on June 11, 1938 as the daughter of Austin and Alice (Stevens) Crane.

Shirley attended from [sic] Bloomington High School. She worked for Kroger from 1968, until her retirement in 1991. She also owned and operated Betty Jean Shop with her husband Russell. Shirley was a member of Northside Christian Church. Shirley was involved with Bible Studies. She enjoyed baking and attending and supporting her grandchildren’s sporting events. She took pleasure in spending time with her friends and family, going out to eat, and going to the movies.

She is survived by her daughters, Carol (Tony) Bruner of Bloomington, and Judy (Greg) Sundt of Bloomington; sons, Mark (Penny) Newlin of Tell City, IN, Scott Newlin of Maryland, Mike (Carol) Jackson of Battleground, IN, Tom (Sue) Jackson, of Martinsville, IN, and Ron (Cheryl) Jackson, of Phoenix, AZ, 27 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and sister, Phyllis (Earl) Cain of Bloomington.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Russell Jackson; son Jace Newlin, and granddaughter, Amanda Jackson.

A reception will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 2, 2016, at Sherwood Oaks Christian Church, Fireside Room. A private family service and burial has taken place.
